The G Family

From Disconnection to Understanding

The G Family came to See Yah searching for a better way to connect with her daughter. Communication felt strained, and despite the love between them, it often felt like they were speaking different languages. Traditional parenting strategies weren’t working—and the emotional toll was growing.

    • Struggled to relate to his daughter and understand emotional triggers

    • Felt uncertain about how to show up supportively without shutting his child down

    • Wasn’t sure where to start or what tools could actually make a difference

    • Worried that the emotional distance was becoming too wide to bridge

  • We started by building intentional reconnection through tailored See Yah tools:

    • Provided the Crisis Kit and Profile Builder to open dialogue and identify needs

    • Used Meeting Prep Guides to frame difficult conversations with care

    • Supported G. in writing clear, compassionate messages her daughter could receive

    • Built a strengths-based profile to shift the focus from behavior to relationship

    • Attended his daughter’s IEP meeting to help frame concerns and ensure accommodations reflected her child’s actual needs

    • G. reconnected with his daughter through intentional, low-pressure conversations

    • Developed clarity on what specifically needed to be addressed at home and at school

    • Felt more confident using language that resonated with his child’s needs

    • Reframed the dynamic from discipline to healing—and saw immediate trust rebuild

The tools I left with after this service made my overall relationship way more positive. Just talking to my daughter again, and knowing how to really hear her, has changed everything for us.
